Making Declarations!!!

Making Declarations!!!!

Prov. 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue,

And those who love it will eat its fruit.

Matt. 12:37 For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

To make a positive declaration there has to be faith and for a negative declaration there will be fear. Each person has to make that decision for themselves as to what they want to do. Fear drives away faith and brings destruction but this is not an issue with ones mouth but rather with ones heart.

Luke 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

The question is what’s in your heart???

We are going to look at a few characters in the bible and take note of the declarations that they made.

  1. Make declarations of victory even before the battle!!!!

Num. 13:25- 33 Then they came to the Valley of Eshcol, and there cut down a branch with one cluster of grapes; they carried it between two of them on a pole. They also brought some of the pomegranates and figs. 24 The place was called the Valley of Eshcol, because of the cluster which the men of Israel cut down there. 25 And they returned from spying out the land after forty days.

26 Now they departed and came back to Moses and Aaron and all the congregation of the children of Israel in the Wilderness of Paran, at Kadesh; they brought back word to them and to all the congregation, and showed them the fruit of the land. 27 Then they told him, and said: “We went to the land where you sent us. It truly flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit. 28 Nevertheless the people who dwell in the land are strong; the cities are fortified and very large; moreover we saw the descendants of Anak there. 29 The Amalekites dwell in the land of the South; the Hittites, the Jebusites, and the Amorites dwell in the mountains; and the Canaanites dwell by the sea and along the banks of the Jordan.”

30 Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.”

31 But the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we.” 32 And they gave the children of Israel a bad report of the land which they had spied out, saying, “The land through which we have gone as spies is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people whom we saw in it are men of great stature. 33 There we saw the giants ( the descendants of Anak came from the giants); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.”

God honors people who have the faith to believe God. The bible says in Mark 11:22 “have faith in God” but the original text says “have the faith OF God. What the rest of the spies forgot was that God had asked them to go and take the land (Num. 13:1). When God commissions you we operate from Him and with His power and Strength. So we never have to fear the out come

When God asks you to do something he never lets you go in alone. He will be there all the way. Ex. 14:14

He never leaves us nor forsakes us… who’s report are you going to believe? Out of that entire generation the only people that made it into the promise land was Joshua and Caleb. Because they were able to say… “we are well able”…this declaration of faith and power is what we need today. We need to say we are well able because our God goes before us and behind us and around us!!!

Phil 4:13 I can do all things…

If our mouths can’t confess it our hands cannot do it and we will not receive it. Everything starts in the mind. God gave us a great gift that nothing else earth has. He gave us a gift of thought and imagination. Pro.23:7“As a man thinks in his heart so is he” …this means that we have to think and know that all things with in our sphere are possible because God our father makes it possible.

  1. Make declarations of humility

Luke 15– the Story of the Prodigal Son, He realized that if he didn’t know how to humble himself he was not going to be restored. His declaration was one of humility and wisdom.

Wisdom will teach you not to be proud but unfortunately some people have to have a pig sty experience. Others are quick to spot the pride blind spot and adjust it quick.

The Bible says pride come before a fall…we need to constantly watch our action, thoughts, words and attitude so that we don’t fall into the trap of pride and thereby falling from grace.

When you make mistake, be like David, repent quickly. Ps. 51

2 Sam. 12:13David said I have sinned against the Lord.

David knew the art of speedy repentance. This is declaration that builds character. When you recognise your sin you need to be humble enough to admit you are wrong and repent.

  1. Make declarations of the goodness of God

Ps 107:22 Let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare His works with rejoicing.(NKJ)

Ps 64:9 All men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; for they shall wisely consider His doing.(NKJ)

Ps 73:28 But it is good for me to draw near to God; I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all Your works.(NKJ)

Acts 15:12 Then all the multitude kept silent and listened to Barnabas and Paul declaring how many miracles and wonders God had worked through them among the Gentiles.(NKJ)

As sons of God we need declare the goodness of God but if we are not confident and humble our declaration of our Father God will not be believable and people will turn to Christ but rather they will run. We need to accurate representatives of God so that people will want to hear what we have to say.

The Story of the Shunnamite 2 Kings 4 is another excellent example of how we must represent God. Our faith has to be of the level that even though we cannot see it we believe it. Her confession was “it is well”. Hebrew 11:1 say “Now Faith…”

Faith is always now. Declare now what you cannot see. Speak the word of the Lord in season and out.

This is not a name it claim it game. That can be very dangerous. Lucifer did that when he made declarations as well.

There are Godly declarations and demonic declarations.

Selfish declarations– that have a taste of selfish ambition were a person will claim over anyone to get ahead.

Excessive declaration– Isa 5:8 Woe to those who join house to house; they add field to field, till there is no place where they may dwell alone in the midst of the land!(NKJ)

Isa 56:11 Yes, they are greedy dogs which never have enough. And they are shepherds who cannot understand; they all look to their own way, every one for his own gain, from his own territory.(NKJ

Lustful declarations – were it is all about what your flesh wants. Praying for lustful things that we want but don’t necessarily need

False declarations- when lying and exaggeration is normal.

Stretching the truth, Adding and padding a story. People do that to make their testimony seem more spiritual but actually it loses its meaning because you lied to make it sound a lot worse. God is not glorified

Isa. 14:13-15

For you have said in your heart:

            ‘I will ascend into heaven,

            I will exalt my throne above the stars of God;

I will also sit on the mount of the congregation

            On the farthest sides of the north;

14     I will ascend above the heights of the clouds,

I will be like the Most High.’

15     Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol,

To the lowest depths of the Pit.
